Privacy Policy
NoRetakes AI ("the app") is made by Krishna Kant Chourasiya, trading as SmallTownDev ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and how you can delete it. Questions: support@noretakesai.com.
The short version
- Your video stays on your iPhone. To make an edit, the app sends only the sound of the video to our server.
- Our server turns the sound into a transcript. The uploaded sound is deleted as soon as the edit is ready (or has failed).
- An AI model reads the transcript text (not the sound or the video) to find retakes and filler.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling or sharing of your data for advertising.
- You can delete your account and everything linked to it in the app at any time.
What we collect and why

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos you don't pick, or any advertising identifiers. The app does not use third-party analytics.
Who processes data for us
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosts our server, where audio is transcribed and edits are stored.
- Anthropic, PBC (United States): its Claude AI model reads the transcript text to find retakes, false starts and filler. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models and is kept only for a limited time.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (United States): checks your subscription status with Apple using your account ID.
- Apple: handles payments, subscriptions and Sign in with Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
We don't sell personal data and don't share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Where data is processed
Our server is in Germany. Anthropic and RevenueCat process data in the United States. By using the app, your data is transferred to these countries, protected by the providers' contractual commitments.
Your choices and rights
- Delete a project: swipe it away in the app. Its transcript and edit list are deleted from our server.
- Delete your account: Settings › Delete account. This deletes your account, projects, transcripts and edit lists from our server and signs you out of Sign in with Apple for this app. Copies in our server backups disappear within 14 days. Subscriptions are managed by Apple: cancel them in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at support@noretakesai.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California or India), you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted (HTTPS). The server is locked down (firewall, key-only access, automatic security updates) and stores only what is listed above.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
